The City has contracted with Oakland County’s Equalization Department to provide assessing services for the City. The City continues to provide staff and personalized service for residents and property owners.

Tax Bills are mailed twice a year: July 1st and December 1st. Summer Taxes are due September 1st, and the Winter Taxes are due February 14th. A drop box is located on the outside of our building for your convenience outside of office hours. Taxes may also be paid with a credit card on line at paylocaltaxes.com although a fee is charged for credit card payments.
Summer taxes paid after September 1st and Winter taxes paid after February 14th will incur a 4% penalty and 1% per month.

Beginning March 1st, all unpaid taxes must be paid to the Oakland County Treasurer’s Office, 1200 North Telegraph, Pontiac, MI 48341, with additional penalties. During the month of March, a revised statement from the City Treasurer must accompany your remittance to the County Treasurer. Beginning April 1st, contact the Treasurer’s Office at 248-858-0611 to obtain the current balance due.
Tax information can be obtained by contacting the Oakland County 24-Hour Tax Hotline at 248-858-0025 or toll free 1-800-600-3773. To access tax information, you will need the last 10 digits of your parcel ID number. There is currently no charge for this service.
